just bought a new to use house in nov. it looked like swamp mud water so i drained it bought some poxy paint i found on the inet. it looks good its a fiberglass pool..... needless to say i now found out not to empthy the darn thing too late,,, so now what do i do. i knnow i need to add the water but i know nothing about the pump/motor. and i dident want to fill the pool becouse the is a drain at the bottom i may need to do something with Please help........

The drain on the bottom of the pool is known as a main drain. It's just another source of getting water into the pump and filter; it won't (if it's not leaking) let the water drain out. You shouldn't need to do anything with it before you fill the pool. (Which I'd recommend doing soon if you have any issues with groundwater in your area, and if they paint is fully cured..) Ground water pressure can eventually crack the walls of the pool if it's not equalized by the pressure of the water in the pool. As far as the getting the pump and filter running, without knowing the specifics (what makes, models, etc) I couldn't give you specifics on what exactly to do with your equipment. The best thing to do would be to take a photo your equipment and let me see that. (Post it to my yahoo group if you want... see below). But basically, you need to fill your pool to the proper level (3/4 up the skimmers or so), make sure all your valves in the suction and return lines are open (with winterizing plugs removed), fill your pump pot with water, and start 'er up. Sounds like a lot, but I can help more with the details through my group...
