Torture doesn't work effectively. There have been studies that show that. Beyond that, torture is a despicable, inhuman tactic. If you're willing to do anything in the name of getting what you want, how does that make you any better than the terrorists?
Some of us have standards and decency. People like you make me sick.

Suppose you think for a moment, these men have been locked up for years without communication, any information we could have gotten is way out of date, they don't deal in stable locations so we couldn't get information on how to bomb them, they are incapable of truth, thinking the more they confess to the better off they are in Martyrdom and regard dying as a viable option. If you torture them you get nothing, unless that's your problem and you've found a place for your perversion.
It isn't Liberal to know that if we stoop to the tactics of our enemies then how do we show the world we are better.
After all, didn't we go in to Iraq because Saddam was an awful dictator torturing his people? Do you think they like it better now that a foreign power is torturing them?
Purely on a practical level, torture doesn't work, the victim will confess to anything to end the pain, this has been proven time after time.
We have gotten throught this far without such dispicable tactics, I see no reason why we must stoop so low now.

Torture is not a good practice. The information you get from a tortured prisoner is useless. At some point, they will tell you anything to get you to stop. Muslims are known for being honest, anyway.
You do like we're doing, interrogate them until you catch them in a circle of lies and call them out on it. With every lie, there is a moment of truth.

Real Americans never approved of torturing anyone. Real Americans have morals and ethical values under God which they will not allow to be altered or changed under any circumstances for any reason. Americans are proud that they set a standard of morality for the rest of the world to follow either when being watched by the laws of their country or when on their own in foreign places which don't have the same moral basis as America.

24 is a TV show. Not real life. These guys put on bombs and blow themselves up. What are we going to do to them that they're going to fear?
Torture doesn't work. It's immoral. It's evil. I don't care how scared you still are from 9/11. You don't get to torture people.
Nice to know that there's still a large pool of idiot lemmings just waiting to be the next brown shirts. Makes me feel really good about where this country's headed.

I think that liberals oppose torturing people period. America is supposed to be a country that practices civil practices and if terrorists want to kill and torture they will do it no matter what we do to them. There will always be evil people in the world. We just don't need to also be one of them.

Most of them seem to not understand that torture does work. I am not saying I support it but there are times when it could be useful.
People do not understand the enemy and think you can talk to them and eventually change their way of thinking.

Did you watch what happened on 9/11? Did you see the harm they caused? All that anguish, pain, suffering..all because of their misguided hatred.
Sinking to the level of the terrorists by copying their tactics DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE ENDS. Becoming our enemy in order to combat it does not work anymore. Our enemy is ignorant "religious" hatred, and copying the tactics bred from that line of thinking is unAmerican. You should be working for al-Qaida if you think Americans should be physically harming people who are no longer a threat. Take your ego-driven revenge trip elsewhere.

Are you capable of beating someone? Are you capable of breaking fingers and legs? Are you capable of sticking electrodes in genitals? Are you capable of all kinds pain that is administered during torture? Torture is no guarantee you will get the truth. What it does guaratee is that they enemy will tell you exactly what you want to hear, whether it's true or not. In other words torture brings forth testimony that has been coerced through brutal pain.
