you just might find them in your pantry...
all you need is some white vinegar, some food colour, and some warm (NOT HOT!) water, and some non-reactive (glass) vessels to dip the eggs in.
boil your eggs as usual
place a few drops of food colour in each vessel, add a tablespoon of white vinegar, then some warm water.
dunk your eggs as desired...longer exposure to the colour mixture will result in brighter finished eggs.
for bi-coloured eggs, dip one end of egg into one colour, dip other end into second colour, if you overlap the two colours, you will wind up with a tri-coloured egg.

As others have indicated, food dye is safe and works the trick. My comment: Some people do dip in a light vinegar solution first to help the shell absorb the colours.

I dye Easter eggs with food coloring. Your local grocery should have them.

Standard food colourings work great. Just add a few drops to the water when boiling your eggs. They're available from most supermarkets. :)

Also try using crepe paper, glitter and coat the dry egg with nail polish. It creates a Fabergé egg effect, very pretty and easy for little kids to do.

THAT... is extraordinary. it particularly is a solid theory to apply that for it. i might stick to stuff i did not particularly placed on, like curtains or blankets or despite, with the aid of opportunity of stench like quite a few different person pronounced.... PTA and Easter Eggs. Who woulda thunk it?
