Both parties are just a single entity on a scale. They are both owned by various special interests.

Either scenario you ask about involves them taking money from my paycheck, keeping a chunk for their own purposes and then redistributing the rest to whatever cause de jour they are sucking at the teat of that day.

I like your question. Personally, I prefer Republican theft. At least they don't tell you to hug a tree or tell you to not smoke. However, no matter how much they try to tell you they are different, they are really the same. All they do is take your money.

I like your question, but using the word "distinction" when referring to political parties is rather strange.
