How do you feel about Oprah?

Do you follow her advice? Do you think she's overrated? etc. ?

I think that money has changed Oprah. She used to be so down to earth and was really on every ones level. I really don't understand why she goes across the world to open schools for other countries, when there are so many needs in this country. It has been the people of this country who made her who she is today. I think it is good that she is doing good for those less fortunate, but where is the love for this country. I don't understand why these celebrities are traveling the world and passing out money and adopting kids, when we need them to be doing things like that here. I guess all I would say to her is be an equal opportunity giver. Do something for the poor and underprivileged in this country.

I don't subscribe to the church of Oprah, but I do find her entertaining. I just wish she would stop preaching to us, for example her show on the secret. She kept saying "I totally believe this, I've been doing this my whole life." Well yes, when you have risen out of a hard life and become sucessful beyond your wildest dreams it is easy to believe that you had something to do with it and it was your positive thinking. Try telling me how that applies to the people I met in Africa though who were the most beautiful, positive people I have ever met and yet somehow their positive thinking is not enough for them to be able to feed or provide a home for their children. Positive attitude is but ONE part of the picture.

Sometimes I feel that she is a bit overrated, but I think she is trying to give back (for example, everything she's doing in Africa, Angel Network, etc.) so for that, she has my respect. I don't always follow her advice simply because she is so relativistic. Whoever is on her show is what she thinks and believes. We need some absolutes in this relative society we live in, and she is not contributing to that. Her show is usually always entertaining though - I'll give her that.

I don't understand her or her audience. I admire her for being the most successful entertainer in history. If I'm out of a job, I make it a point not to watch her daytime show. That is bad luck towards getting back to work.

I think lately she just loves herself entirely too much. She is the richest women, so I guess you have to expect it to go to her head, but who has a magazine and then puts their OWN face on it for EVERY ISSUE????

If that's not conceited, I don't know what is. She does do alot of great things for people, but she makes sure EVERYONE knows how good and giving she is. If she really just wants to do good things and be unselfish, she shouldn't make a point to tell the world every good deed she does.

VERY OVERRATED! IT SEEMS THAT SHE DOES EVERYTHING FOR THE CAMERA AND SEEKS OUT ONLY THE RICH AND FAMOUS FOR HER SHOW AND HER AUDIENCE IS 99.5 FULL OF RICH (LOOKING),WHITE HOUSEWIFE TYPES! SHE MAKES SURE THAT THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS WHEN SHE DOES A "GOOD DEED"! IF IT'S TRULY GENUINE,NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW! SHE A BIG PHONEY TO ME!..I MEAN RICH PHONEY!
