If you have a General Motors car (through the mid 90s), and the problem is worse when you first drive the car in the morning, you probably need a new steering rack.

Yes, also a disparity in air pressure in the tires, mismatched or severely or unevenly worn tires, worn bearings, a front end alignment and / or a problem somewhere in the steering gear or column and suspension and related parts could do it.
Either way, it could be simple and you should check the easy stuff first but this problem needs to be addressed immediately but certainly before the car is driven any more, as it could also be a sign of impending doom (that could cause you to wreck)... Not trying to be melodramatic or scare you, just saying this needs fixing before the car is driven again, maybe it's ok if you take it real easy but idk, idk...
