can i mix breast milk and formula to wean baby off breast quicker?

Yes, I did! I mixed the two to get her used to the taste of the formula and to slow my milk production down with out the feelings of engorgement.

I don't want to sound like a meanie but why don't you wait until you have your baby to see how well you like breastfeeding?
With my first I was dead set on only breastfeeding until he was about three months. Then weaning to formula. After we got to three months It was the most wonderful experience. I could not imagine not breastfeeding.
During those first three months I started reading and learning about the benafits of breastfeeding and I was really glad that I had started out doing the right thing.

You really need to get a good education about breastfeeding before you have your baby. It is sometimes hard to get things started well.
I found alot of other mothers at La Leche League meetings in our town. It seems like we all had babies about the same time and it was really neat to see what milestones others babies were meeting and be able to kinda compare them to each other LOL.
I also saw alot of pregnant women coming for information.

Good Luck.... I hope that the birth goes well and breastfeeding starts off easy. If you still want to wean after getting it off to a good start then be confident that you have provided your baby with the best start possible.
