Im 39 weeks pregnant.. a few weeks ago i experienced this, jsut not as bad! When whenever im sleeping, i wake up in the middle of the night.. usually around 2 or 3 with the worst lower back pains that will increase to my sides and stomache. they bring me to tears, so i usually try to go to the bathroom and it helps with the pain in the stomache usually but the back ones are always there still.. So i usually try to lay on all fours to see if maybe its cause of pressure the baby is putting on me.. It helps a little bit and i will be able to fall back asleep but i wake back up within a an hour or 2 with the same pain! I am getting no sleep cause of this and its just stressin me out cause 1 im getting no sleep and 2 it hurts soo bad! but its only happening @ night time though. I will get the same pains when i have to go to the bathroom all of a sudden but thats it!!!

What do you think is going on.. why do you think this keeps happening to me .. And what do u think i could do about it

I think you are getting close to your time. I slept uncomfortably the last few weeks as well however i do not remember such strong pain until I was in labor at the hospital. then nothing helped until the epidural ;) See you doctor now! We don't want you and the baby to be in any danger.

I had alot of pains simular to this when I was pregnant.. Laying down was BAD! Also I remember the pains when I had to go pee really bad. It seemed like getting up out of bed and going pee always releived the pain :D
Have you tried sleeping in a sitting position like in a recliner? That may help you a little. It just seems like the only real relief was having a baby!!! But then you have a whole different group of sleep issues.

Just remember that anytime you change positions like getting up from lying down and the pain subsides that it is NOT labor.

Take the advice here... call your doctor and get an appointment to see him/her. Labor affects women differently!!! Is this your first pregnancy? If not, how is this one compared to the first one?

Try soaking in the bathtub.... relaxing your muscles. Have hubby rub your lower back to relax the muscles. You might need to sleep on the coach/chair and see if that helps relief the pain.

Congrats!!! Let us know what you find out...

It really sounds like back labor. Ask your doctor.
