Most people don't realize just how tough it is to play in New York.
The pressure is tremendous. Media is all over you if you lose. and of couse George Steinbrener.
Derek Jeter said its the greatest place to play when you are winning and it is the worst place to be when losing and yet these players can handle all of that.
I have just one question. How can people hate a team with such unbelievable players that can not only do great things on the field but handle the intense pressure of the field.

Because everyone wishes that their home teams spent money like tha Yanks do. People complain about it, but really, if their home team owner was willing to spend millions and millions on the best free agents, I bet they'd be pretty happy. All Steinbrenner is doing is bringing in the best entertainment to the biggest market in the nation. It's like a producer hiring top notch actors to be in a movie...
I am a Twins fan and like that we do well w/ a small payroll, but I would be lying if I said I didn't want our owner to break the bank...

I don't hate the Yankees. I root against them because they are spoiled rotten by too much money and haven't developed any great minor league players into major league studs in almost 10 years. Hell, with so much money I could buy a team just as talented.
And get over yourself. Boston and Chicago are just as tough to deal with the media as New York.

Everybody who knows anything about baseball gives lots of respect to the Yankees. They have been the team to beat in the AL East, the whole American League for over a decade.
That said, everybody else except the Red Sox have to make do with a fraction of the money that the Yanks can throw around.
And it is easy to hate a team whose fans are consistently arrogant and think that as soon as you put on pinstripes a player can walk on water.
So, with much respect.....Yankees SUCK!!!!!

Get over your New York City love. The Chicago media and fans are as bad as New York.
How can we hate a team - because we like a different one more.
Once again - the world does not revolve around New York. The local media in many cities is just as tough as New York.

People hate the Yankees because they have the most money which then they use the money to buy the best players and in effect they keep winning.I also don't hate the Yankees.They aren't the best.Adleast they don't have Albert Pujols.He rocks!

No one complained when they spent money and lost in the 80's so why complain now? You just have to ignore of the people that hate the Yankees for no reason other than what the media states about them.

To me, they have such a winning tradition. I like underdogs....most of the time. Plus I'm a White Sox fan big time. I do enjoy watching them play though. One of the best teams in baseball. Can't argue with that. I still hate em'.

yes yankee players are due alot of respect and the fans need to learn respect, they are a bunch of arrogant crudballs,loud,obnosious,never ending running their mouths to the piont of a headache,and yes they always have to get in the last Word
