I am the only female in my workplace with 7 men. why is it that they have no clue when it comes to buying office supplies or setting up a computer or even turning in their time sheet? are they really that clueless or are they just lazy?

I think they are avoiding responsibility. If they do it right once, they'll be expected to do it correctly again.

I've found that the guys I've worked with (and my husband) will act so stupid and bumble over anything they just don;t want to do. I get so freakin' frustrated that I end up doing it myself. It's a coup... they know that if they avoid responsibility long enough that the women will clean up their messes and do the work for them.

The comments are correct. It is human nature to try to avoid responsibility and work whenever possible. On the other hand, there are people who are only too happy to do the work that others do not want to The latter trait is also a part of human nature.

The only female in the office means you're doing secretarial work. Probably exactly what you were hired for.

They're getting you to do it for them.
