The FBI has been using to spy on innocent Americans. It used to be the democrats that supported a big brother government. Now it the so called conservatives. Do you still support a government that spies on you?

BTW. The nothing to hide agrument is BS and you know it. It didn't work for Rove, and it ain't going to work now!

Ruth the Meanie Head says: "Ask your precious Democratic Congress this question. It is more appropriate. Have they said anything about re-writing or repealing it?"

The answer is yes and the Democrats have already voted to repeal the Patriot Act provision that allows the Attorney General to appoint US Attorneys without Senate approval.

Amending the rest of the Patriot Act will take some study and more hearings-- to see what parts are working and what parts aren't. Democrats haven't been in power for long and they need to get at least some Republican support since they have a very thin majority in the Senate.

Conservative or liberal; no one should support many of the unnecessary privacy intrusions and fishing expeditions authorized by the Patriot Act.

It appears to be true that the FBI abused some of the powers granted by the Patriot Act. That is unacceptable and those people should be held to account for it. That doesn't mean the Patriot Act is bad or that it's provisions are unnecessary.
No one is suggesting that the people they used the provisions against improperly were innocent Americans. Nonetheless, if they should not have been using those provisions and did so knowingly they should be held responsible.

The democrats are not for "Big Brother" government they are for BIG government as in Socialist government. Where the Federal Government redistributes wealth, imposes restrictions on business and sets up gigantic bureaucracies to control things like health care and social security. None of which is the right or responsibility of the Federal Government according to the Constitution.

I support the Patriot Act cautiously, because I believe it provides oversight to federal abuses long occurring without it, and I see a need for it, as well.

FYI: Ask your precious Democratic Congress this question. It is more appropriate. Have they said anything about re-writing or repealing it?

Nope. They have been more interested in cutting troops support and raising the minimum wage.
