I know its called the funny bone but why do we laugh when we hit our elbow/funny bone?

Because it hurts so much...a special little bone vibration makes you laugh! Don't you hate it when it gets all weak? And you're laughing like an idiot about it!

Umm, I never laugh when I hit it. It hurts!!! And it's called the funny bone because it's your humerus ( a word play is humorous or funny)

the word funny bone comes from a mum or dad saying it to there child when they hit it to help them stop crying like they say you have hit your funny bone so why arnt you laughing

Nobody knows for sure. I figured years ago, that it is better to laugh, than to cry. If you break your funny bone, it will hurt so much, that pain will have another meaning.

I never laugh when I hit mine.It HURTS. PS It's called the funny bone because it's proper name is the Humerus (humerous - funny)

we laugh as a type of shock surprise reaction (also the resign why we laugh then tickled)
the brain has not time to restorer sometime with being hit or is confused and used a tempery response till it can fully restorer.
same resign why people often don't go into shock or feel pain straight away after an accident

Because usually we are in front of someone and we laugh to keep from crying it really does hurt and is not funny. lol
