I'm kinda like you..I don't know if I like the fact that practically all the characters in the movie were dead by the end of it. But of course if you watch the directors previous films...(Goodfella's and Casino) it kinda made sense. I was glad when Damon got shot by Wahlberg but I was upset about how Dicaprio died. It was really quick.

I loved the movie and I definitely think it deserved the award. I thought Leonardo Decaprio and Mark Wahlberg did a great job. Matt Damon was also good. I thought the ending to the movie was great. I loved the fact that Matt Damon's character was brought down by Wahlberg.

I really enjoyed it, but as a female the excessive violence was jarring. I'm from Boston so I enjoyed the locale and the New England flavor. I really was digging Leo DiCaprio's character, so when he got shot at the end I was pissed and sad. He was trying to do the right thing and look what happened? It made me mad that Matt Damon's character was lauded as a hero. But of course Markie Mark and the funky bunch put a cap in his *** in the end. Ya gotta love it! It made me wonder though if the Matt Damon character would ever be exposed or if his death was called heroic by the department.

I feel the exact same way. Watch it again and you'll be able to decide.
The first time that I watched it I was expecting the greatest movie ever made (thanks to the awards and reviews). However, when the end credits rolled.... I wasn't quite taken by it.
A few days later I watched it again and it won me over. The story is one of the most original that I've ever seen in this genre and the acting was great. Leonardo DiCaprio really grew a pair in his last few movies. I used to think he was a fairy. Not anymore. He's launched his career in a whole new direction now.
So, The Departed was a great movie... in my opinion. The best part is Matt Damon's demise. He totally had it coming. I loved the surprised look on his face and last words. Perfect.

ok, i talked about it this weekend. I have some issues to assert. first to each person, in case you probably did not understand already, the departed became a remake of a Hong Kong movie titled "Infernal Affairs." in case you weren't chuffed with The departed, look into Infernal affairs, an surprising movie, and surely i imagine infernal affairs is extra valuable than the departed. i surely don't understand what the envelope became. it wasn't the "citizen's" envelope because leo left that in matt damon's place of work. they never really done that storyline off. i loved the talk. there became an outstanding form of cussing, besides the indisputable fact that it worked. the talk became quickly, humorous, and there have been an outstanding form of significant one liners. The storyline became ok, there have been really suspenseful moments, and different cases you ask your self why are they doing this? case in point, became it had to have them both love an same psychiatrist, i propose does the boston pd have purely a million psychiatrist? and became anthony anderson's personality really needed? i concept alec Stanley Baldwin and mark walhberg did an surprising pastime. each person else became extraordinarily solid as well. yet if you find yourself curious, i propose sorting out infernal affairs, similar form of plot, besides the indisputable fact that the storyline and how they go about that's different (that is why i eventually like infernal affairs).

I liked it at first, but loved it the second time I watched it. The acting is incredible! The language is bad though. I was soooooooo mad when Leo got shot!! I just screamed out loud and left the room for a minute!

It was a good movie, i saw it last week. I don't think it deserved the oscar though. Great actors, great story and superb directing, but overall i wasn't very pleased with it. I feel like something didn't click in it.
and yes i was laughing throughout the movie too.

great movie! Leo's performance -as well as Jack Nicholson's (of course!) -was amazing! it is also the first movie he actually looks like a guy in his 30s and not a teenager!
great mob story, great director, great cast, what is not to like!!!
