For many years, I have struggled with this question. Why does liberals detest freedom so bad?

If liberals hate freedom so bad, why don't they move to a communist country like Germany, France, Russia, or even China where they'll fit in better?

It isn't that most liberals detest freedom. Many think that their ideas will create a better tomorrow for more people just as conservatives believe that our ideas will make the world better for more people. What you see is the American left being corrupted by Marxists/Communists who are hardcore anti-freedom, anti-capitalism. For the Marxists to reach their mythical Utopia where all people are completely equal for all times, they have to destroy individual freedom, religion, and the potential for disparity in outcome among people by force. After several generations, they believe they can educate the "negative" aspects of wealth acquisition, faith, and pair bonding out of people so that their Utopia will be acheived. Many run of the mill liberals don't realize they are being used by these people to achieve agendas that most liberals would not agree with.

I don't believe that they detest or hate freedom.

They have created their own paradox. They want an exclusive right for their own agenda and freedom, but not for others

your premise is flat out wrong. there's no evidence you can present that suggests liberals hate freedom. no one hates freedom. sounds like you hate liberals.
if you're so intolerant of people having different views than you, maybe you should move to Russia where dissent is not tolerated.
By the way Germany and France aren't communist countries.

If the Founding Fathers were alive now, they would be aghast at the anti-American, welfare state mentality of the current horde of liberals. Liberalism in the 18th Century meant advocacy of freedom and liberty, which the Ted Kennedy/Nancy Pelosi/John Kerry crowd just can't comprehend.

Yesterday's liberals are today's conservatives.

Just remember that 40 years ago, the Democrats were trying to suppress minorities through segregationist policies. Today, they're doing it with the "civil rights" laws, welfare, and affirmative action. And they call themselves liberals.

What exactly is freedom? Do you think that giving you the ability and means to easily end the life of another person without consequences makes you free? Owning a gun does not make you a responsible citizen, it demonstrates that you a worthless coward who doesn't have the actual manpower to take the life of someone else and requires a machine to do it for them. Also I would highly suggest that you get your hands on a very powerful novel I read recently that I feel you would appreciate - Hooked on Phonics!

Furthermore, I feel that you misunderstand the meaning of freedom. Freedom as you define it is the absolute disregard of the human rights and needs of others. Your kind of freedom simply makes for bigoted juggernauts like Bush and fascist dictators like Hitler. After all, if they are allowed to do what they want, i. e. your definition of freedom, then the human race would quickly die out as we slowly killed one another over petty disputes.

Finally, you need to understand something else.

France IS NOT and NEVER WAS a communist country.
Germany IS NOT a communist country.

Also you contradict yourself in your own statement - you are simply trying to defeat the freedom of liberals to think what they want with your own freedom.

Haven't the same accusations been made that liberals spend too much time defending freedom of speech with NAMBLA and the KKK?

Beyond that the dictionary definition of a liberal is one who politically supports and is favorable favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.

Sounds like 'freedom' to me.

Do you even understand that the Founding Fathers of this country were one of the most liberal bunches in history? Do you even understand that the Conservatives did not win the cold war and defeat totalitarian communism on their own? You need to get out more.

I know, I think deep down tehy think that by overtaxing us for socialist/communist style programs, legislating everything so you cant say anything offensive to others etc it actually an increase in freedom when in fact it is just the government running your lives. I think they mean well but lets just hope they never get any real power, our country may not recover if they did. .
