I'm wanting to start making hair bows for my daughter. I was told by a friend that you could wrap grossgrain ribbon tightly around a pencil and place it in the oven to make it curly. Has anyone ever tried this? If so I'm wondering for how long and how hot? Also if anyone has any other tips for making the process simple (as I am crafty but have never done this sort of thing) it would be greatly apprieciated.

Any websites would be helpful too.

I bought instructions cheap from a lady on Ebay. Here is her link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190097281895&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RCRX_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=190095327478&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget

You can use the Buy It Now option and get the Ebook right away for $2.40 (free shipping since it is emailed). The instructions are clear and there are great pics. She even tells you places to get the supplies cheap.

Good luck and have fun!

There are all kinds of bow-type thingies that you could make for your daughter's hair. The heat-set ribbons is one type, but others could be quite different. Try some of these sites for a variety:
