that wouldn't be a bad move, i don't think you can say that rex is a better qb than carr (imagine grossman playing the last 4 years in houston, that would be an ugly scene). but the bears should do something about the qb position, the team was good enough to make it to the superbowl, but they were bailed out along the way by some awesome special teams play, some breaks here and there and a good defense. but rex as the future of the bears is a joke. david carr still has potential, and on a good team such as the bears he may be able to show that.

There is no way the Bears should sign David Carr. Rex Grossman has now played one full season. David Carr is at best a backup quarterback and Houston finally realized that. Rex Grossman may not be the Bears long term answer, but he should at least have another season to try. Maybe David Carr's record would have been better in Chicago the past four years (thanks to the D) but his numbers wouldn't have been better than Grossman's. Of course, with the Bears offseason moves so far, it wouldn't surprise me. Maybe they'll sign Drew Bledsoe..............2 Thumbs Down?? Do any of you even watch football? David Carr is garbage. He was 18-8 as a starter in college at Fresno State. That is not the record of a #1 pick. David Carr wasn't bad because of the Texans, the Texans were bad because of David Carr.

I certainly don't think that it would be a bad move. In my opinion, David Carr is a better quarterback than Rex Grossman, and he would at least challenge for the starting job. But Jerry Angelo seems keen on making unorthodox and sometimes questionable moves.
First, He traded Thomas Jones to the Jets, and now there are rumors that Lance Briggs will be wearing a Redskins uniform next year. So, I wouldn't count on the Bear's adding Carr, but the Packers, Vikings, and Lions all seem like possible destinations. So, you still may see him twice a year.

No because Griese is a better QB than Carr. Carr could probably start for some teams but Griese is a legitimate playoff caliber QB backing up Grossman. I think to make the Bears bite on a QB it would have to be someone who was better than Griese and right now there isn't anyone out on the FA market like that.

why replace a bum with a bum? there are too many good quarterbacks out there for that. carr had a good running back and a receiver or two in houston. he was a truck! let him go be a backup to michael vick or somebody else where he will be buried on the bench where he belongs.

no because even if david carr does go i think hes going to make the same dumb decisions he did for the texans, he has his ups and downs but i think he mostly likes being down....on the ground with a lineman on top of him

Yes. I would love to see how he'd perform behind that strong, talented offensive line Chicago has. He's a definite upgrade at QB over Rex GROSSMan and Brian Greasy.
