Like, how and where did it start? Is anyone solely attributed with starting it, what's the history behind it?

it was to make sure the bride got to the alter in medieval time in the grooms honer.


as most marriages were arranged by family's his role was to make sure the bride did not run away or get kidnap by family enemies.
their were more then one best men sometimes to protect, serve and take both bride and groom.

The Best Man is the person in a wedding party that the bride should marry.

Why wouldn't a girl choose the best man?

Seems obvious to me.

In olden days the groom had to raid the brides house by force and carry her away. If he could not do that, he got someone strong enough to do it for him, the "best man" for the job.

i think the Best Man,s concepts come from the those cultures who had seen and met the massangers of God! and the Best Man can be just the Massenger of God or the other one whom gifted by God the Good quailties!
