There is black, brown, and black/brown colors in mascara out on the market today. I do not know which you are suppose to choose for my type of hair color/complexion. I have darker blonde hair but will highlight it for my wedding, very pale skin, but hopefully will get a small tan before the wedding, and my eyes are green, but not a dark green.
My wedding is in the afternoon and the reception starts at 6pm. I dont know much about makeup, so I dont know if the color depends on the event or your hair color. My eyelashes look brown to me in the mirror.
I would appreciate anyone's advice on this. Especially if you are a beauty consultant like with Mary Kay or something like that.
Thanks!

We have similar features (only, I have light brown and not blonde hair). Still, I always go for black/brown mascara. Regular old brown tends to look very unnatural, especially if your eyelashes are black. If you have light OR dark eyelashes, black/brown will work perfectly! It will look slightly more brown if you have light lashes and slightly more black if you have darker lashes. But, it will look natural and will help make your lashes look longer and fuller in either case.
You should also use a mascara with a primer. Primer is a white base that you use as an undercoat. So, you would put it on BEFORE applying your mascara. This will extend your lashes even more and will help keep the mascara from smearing or smudging. Maybelline XXL Volume + Length Microfiber Mascara w/ primer is reasonably priced, easy to find, and works great!
Good luck and congratulations on the wedding!

Brown mascara for sure. Thats what the experts say for blondes. Black mascara or black eyeliner are too much of a contrast. If you're still not sure then ask someone to take a closeup picture of you with brown mascara and then with black. Also speak with the person who will be doing your makeup for the wedding and ask them to consult the wedding photographer with you. The wedding photographer can offer insight on what kinds of makeup will show up or be overdone in the pictures. If all else fails then talk to your wedding consultant.

When I got married my hair was light brown with natural blonde highlights and I have greenish-hazel eyes-but more green than hazel. I bought a new line of eye makeup that almay has called play up the green or bring out the green. The color of the mascara is raisin (same line). Great product and you can use it for day-to-day use too. Hope this helps.

i would advise that you use brown eyeliner as black is too dominant and can make the eyes smaller and draw all attention to the eyes but making them look to in your face. i would then advise that you use a brown/black mascara as this will add attention but look more natural. also if your face is not as tanned by the time of the wedding try and use the dream matte mouse foundation which is really good and blends perfectly in with your skin tone. also try the johnsons body tanning cream/lotion. although it does smell if you put it on every night before you go to bed then the smell has gone by the morning and you have a natural tan

I agree w/ the people who recommended black/brown mascara. You should try a waterproof black/brown mascara and try it out for a few days.
Do some test shots of yourself at different times of day while wearing it and see how you like the look. You can even try wearing black mascara and comparing the sets of photos.
Regardless of color, you should find a mascara formula you like; one that gives your the desired effect without irritating your eyes or flaking/smearing. Not all brands work for all people.
BTW, www.cosmeticscop.com is a good site for beauty tips and product overviews & www.makeupalley.com is a free members only site w/ extensive consumer reviews of all kinds of beauty products.

I am a Mary Kay consultant, and I'm a dark blonde with pale skin and I am getting married too :D. I always wear black mascara. I like to use natural colors as far as eye shadow and liner go, but mascara is what makes your eyes really pop especially in photos.
Feel free to message me with any specific questions you may have. I can send samples of anything as well.

I'm an Arbonne consultant. I got married in May of 2006. I had light brown hair at the time and had just gotten a tan, although I wasn't bronze! :-) I used black/brown. It is the perfect compromise for looking natural yet giving your lashes a little KICK! You can view my wedding day picture on my website. Just click on "About me". I have closer pix of my makeup if you want to see them.
Good luck!

Why not cope together with her and get her eye lashes tinted brown and if she likes then the beauty therapist can darken them till they are the right shade for her. additionally she might have her eyebrows performed! It merely fee £10 for the the two performed around right here so it does not be all that costly and it wont fade the colour lasts till the lashes fall out! If she has a teary 2nd it wont run like mascara! I even have mine performed all the time its lots greater fee-effective than paying for a clean mascara each month i prefer to advise it to anyone! All my pals come to me as quickly as ever 5 weeks to have it performed (i'm a elegance therapist) If she might choose it redone i prefer to advise waiting for 4-6weeks.

Ive been a makeup artist for just about 2 years now and i do many brides makeup on their wedding day. I never use black mascara on a person who has pale skin. Always go for the natural and classic look rather than the dramatic look for your wedding. So i would suggest that you do go with brown mascara and if perhaps you feel like you want your lashes to stand out more than go with a brown/black because that will still look good. but just dont do the black mascara it will just never look good expecially in close ups.
