We are told that we live in a meritocracy whereby everyone has an equal chance to succeed. However, this is untrue in that those we power have been building power over the generations and to stay in power they must convince the rest of us that we can "make it" if we work hard when in reality, it is impossible for most people.

In either case I would have to say I am finally at a happy medium with myself, be that it mediocre or not. However, If I put my faith in my fellow man, or woman then I might as well claim the myth. We know how fulfilling myths are and how well myth pays the rent.
