I work in a hotel near Sheffield, and the manager has taken money out of cash tips. I saw him take £200 out once and I don't know if he put it back. What is the best thing to do?

Ask him if he's going to pay taxes on that? Or if the payroll people know that he's collecting your tips.

Do the kitchen or bar staff get 'tip out'?
I used to work in a restaurant and 1% of each waiters takings would go into a kitty that was then divided up amongst bar and kitchen employees. You could ask someone if they get this - then it would eliminate this from equation.
Other than that I don't know if there is much that you can do - if you confront him about it (if has taken the money for his own keeping) then he'll just deny it and say he put it back. Unless you can confide in your colleagues to keep an eye on him too then it's your word against his. Is there anyone above/below him in terms of management that you could ask?

Personally I would chop his fingers off, but dont suppose that is an option. Try putting superglue in with the cash when you see him come in then he's caught with his sticky fingers in the cash.

get more information count the money in it one day, then count it again a couple of days after he takes some out. if your sure he's stealing it, contact the boss or make a complaint if its a chain, or if its small/family owned, confront him or seek other work.

move the cash box , take the box home and tell others what you r doing this fails chop his bloody hands off , tell him this is stealing

what you could do is put some dog poo in the jar on top of the money then when he takes it his hand will smell really bad
