And in February I got my first Depo Shot but I lied to the nurse and told her I had gotten my period that month which I hadn't but I got the pregnancy test and it was negative but now it the 27 of march and I still haven't gotten my period what does this mean?

Get a second test, but it may just be a side effect of the shot. Many women have irregularities and missed periods while on the shot:

1) Irregular, heavy, or no bleeding are common side effects of Depo Provera. After a year of use, many women stop having periods. Lack of a period becomes increasingly common with longer use.

2) Menstrual irregularities
Bleeding, spotting and amenorrhea (not having periods) are common. After a year of Depo-Provera injections, 57% of women are not menstruating. After 2 years, 68% of women are not menstruating. If you stop getting Depo-Provera injections, your period usually returns within 3 to 10 months.

It could be a couple things, either the test was wrong, usually the result of testing too early, and you are pregnant, or the shot is causing your missed period, or in some cases, the worry of being pregnant is enough to mess up your cycle. In either case, you should go see your doctor and fess up about not having your period. Even if you go to the store and get another at home pregnancy test, you could get a false result due to the shot. Better safe than sorry on this one, because the damage to an unborn child is unknown with these shots, go see your doc A.S.A.P.

You need to get another pregnancy test, if you are you need to make a choice for the unborn child how much damage will this depo shot cause the baby? Some women who take this shot miss there monthly periods, but you can lose your doctor for lying to them. I hope you have or will learn to be truthful to your doctors they have a hard time treating people as it is and when people lie it makes it a lot more difficult for them and they can fire you because being a doctor is stressful, and they will always have patients. So they don't have to let people make there jobs worse. I hope you haven't harmed a Innocent baby.

Depo is a three month shot...it is often associated with a loss of your period. As the company website says, "Irregular, heavy, or no bleeding are common side effects of Depo Provera. After a year of use, many women stop having periods. Lack of a period becomes increasingly common with longer use." So you are in a bit of a pickle, I would get another test. It is possible you are pregnant, but it could just be the drug.

Either you are having a delayed period (my issue) or the pregnancy test was wrong. Either way, see a doctor. A delayed period can be a sign of cancer, though not always. Or the pregnancy test could be wrong. The doctor can do further tests to tell you what is really going on and help you with whatever is the problem. I hope it works out for you.

It is common to miss your period for three straight months when going on depo, but you should consult the doctor anyway. You really had no reason to lie to the nurse, those questions are important and they help figure out when the medicine needs to be started in order to match your cycle.

It was not smart to lie about your period. They ASK those questions for a REASON. I would suggest you calling your doctor and telling the what has taken place. You may also want to take another pregnancy test. This time be completely HONEST. The only person your going to hurt by lying is yourself.

it is common to not get your period after the injection. however, if you are pregnant, it is *not good!* (for the potential foetus)

pregnancy tests are not infaliable. did you have contraception before the shot? (!did you ever have a period before!?)

you have to go to a doctor to be sure.

1st never lie about that! if you were preg it could deform your baby bad... also when you are on the depo you may never get your period. thats the side effects. i would just take another urine pregnancy test see where that is if its negative then im sure you are fine.
