Lower back adjustments can help ensure that the baby is optimally aligned for birth which makes for short labours, not to mention the comfort for mom having a properly aligned spine.
However, regarding the x-rays. I have seen quite a few chiropractors and none have ever done x-rays. And I know of some that do x-rays the first visit and once a year thereafter. I do not go to chiropractors who rely on x-rays. If you can't assess bone position using your hands you have no business using your hands to adjust bone position. That is just my opinion. That doesn't mean that no chiropractor should ever do an x-ray, there may very well be a good reason in your case. And yes it is completely safe as your baby will be will protected. But it is your choice.
You may wish to try talking to a few other chiropractors and then going to a different one. Most chiropractors should be willing to discuss their practice standards and philosophy free.
Here is a list of some chiropracters trained in prenatal care:

Alot of Chiropractors treat pregnant women of all stages. Lower back adjustments are really common because that is a common complaint with pregnant women in their last trimester.
Neck xrays will not harm the baby. The will place a heavy bib on you so as to protect your unborn child. Besides, the radiation from a neck xray wont go down your spine.
I have been seeing a chiropractor since i found out i was pregnant and i tell you what i wont ever stop. I am 15 weeks now and havent felt one iota of discomfort in my back and hips. If you are that overly concerned talk with your Chiropractor. They would know better than anyone on here!

I worked for a chain of chiropractic clinics about 15 years ago, and they would only treat pregnant women during the first trimester. I'm not sure if that still applies today though, and it may just depend on the woman's individual condition.

I am 31 weeks and I have been seeing a chiropractor every 2 weeks since week 12. I was told never to have X-Rays unless you are wearing a lead apron over your belly. But as far as adjustments it is safe just donlt do any where you are lying on your tummy.
I read that chriropratic care can shortern your labor time and keep your pelvis aligned.
Just wait till you get bigger your back will kill you...see the Chiropractor

I am not seeing a chiropractor. However a good friend of mind went in for biweekly lower back adjustments during her pregnancy and said it worked great. She even attributes it to her easy labor (from start to finish it was 5 hours). I would see one, but I don't want to take the extra time off of work

I work for a Chiropractor and I am also pregnant. I wouldn't suggest the neck x rays at all and I know that you can get adjustments but the dr has to be really careful. Here we have electic muscle stimulators and the traction table for the back and I do both during my lunch break. Get a second opinion on the adjustment bc I know that the Chiropractor can't lay you on your belly (at least mine won't do that)

I saw a Chiropractor while I was pregnant. If he does x-rays, he will put a lead shield over your abdomen to protect the baby. As far as adjusting goes, as long as he knows that you are pregnant, it should be fine. My Chiropractor's table had a removable part that made a space for the belly when I laid face-down. Be sure to make an appointment for after the birth! I didn't know why I was in so much pain after my daughter was born until I went in. Turns out she knocked my tailbone out of alignment.

I've gone a few times during this pregnancy and wish I had gone more, I always feel SO much better after I go! If your chiropractor is experienced with pregnant women anything he/she does should be ok, they wouldn't do anything that would harm you or the baby. Talk with them about it if you are concerned about the things they are doing :) Good luck!
