I am 2 days late. No signs of period. I am cramping in my lower back. I never get cramps until after I start my period so that is unusual. My LMP started February 24. I have taken HPTS, all of which said negative. Should I trust the negative result? Should I retest again? When can I be confident in the HPT results?

I plan on going to the doctor next week if I haven't started yet. Please don't tell me "Stress" is causing me to be late. In 10 years, I have never been late and I have been plenty stressed!

well its possible to have a false negative result. they are not uncommon. Sometimes the pregnancy hormone is hard to detect. the best time to do the test is first thing in the morning. also try the test one more time in three days, but do it in the morning. if still no period see the doctor.

Two days late is not very late, and add to that the cramping and the negative test results, and I would say "not pregnant."

Wait three more days before taking another test -- if your period still hasn't come. Also, be sure to use an HPT that gives "early" results, such as FIRST RESPONSE EARLY RESULT.

Good luck!

Your only 2 days late...most HPT's wont be accurate until your at least 5 days late...retest in 3 days and see what happens
