Thank you guys, you 're great!!
Some of you have missed the point, though. My question is not about how Greeks and Turks get along, why, who's right or wrong, who's better etc..! I really want to know the stereotype ideas, images or thoughts that u have when thinking about these two people. Indipendently!!!
But thanks anyway because your answers so far have been really really good! THANKS!

First thing that crosses my mind when I hear soemthing about Greece - cradle of civilization, the Acropolis, beautiful beaches, old men with huge mustaches sitting around playing dominoes or some such game, My Big Fat Greek Wedding (lol), Olympic games. A place I've been dying to see since I was about 10.

First thing that crosses my mind when I hear something about Turkey - not much unfortunately, probably very nice since friends of mine vacationed there and loved it, remember from my ancient history class the Hittites were from there, They Might Be Giants sang the song Istanbul(Not Constantinople), there were battles between Greece and Turkey but I'm not at all familiar with them. I'd like to see the country and get to know more about the people.

In conclusion, I have nothing against either Greeks or Turks and in fact would love to get to know both a lot better. I love learning about cultures different from my own. Understanding and celebrating our differences is what will allow us to grow as a society.

Although I'm Greek I could not resist to give you an answer.
Trouble. That's what comes to mind every time I hear Greece and Turkey mentioned in the same sentence. I come from a generation that was brainwashed in school to hate Turks. They taught us things with a subtle (if you are a kid) difference in connotations. So Kioutahi Pasha is the "blood thirsty butcher" of the island of Chios, while Karaiskakis who makes pyramids out of Turkish heads is a "hero". I out grew this long time ago. I have been to Turkey innumerable times and know that we share a lot in common. After all we lived together for 400 years. We as people have gotten over all this crap but our mutual governments haven't
