i want children's cartoons, not the simpsons (smithers), family guy, or anything on adult swim. i'm thinking like maybe chip and dale, since they live together and never hook up with chicks

If you look back at some of the shows we grew up watching you could see hints of this in many of them, intentional or not, but I highly doubt kids today will pick them up. With many shows there are rumours that the main characters could be that way - Huckleberry hound always singing but no girlfriend | the pink exit stage left cat | chip/dale likely but I highly doubt it -more of a brotherly love | and there are so many characters that are just out as targets for many a parody - elmer fudd(drawn together) PacMan(drawntogether) and many more.

I doubt they are actually this way, unless they came out of the cartoon closet. Kids won't see the references but as adults one might see that something isn't quite right. Especially in little kids programming, say Barney | Teletubbies | and more.

Sometimes it adds more humour to the character if portrayed that way, and sometimes not.

This is just speculation, but BUGS BUNNY seemed to really like acting effeminate and kissing Elmer Fudd on the lips.

As for as Chip and Dale are concerned there are a couple of old episodes ( not Rescue Rangers ) where they went out dancing with female chipmunks and even stole kisses at the end of the evening.

I think you might be remembering the "Goofy Gophers" from Warner Bros. They debuted in I think 1947. Their names were Mac and Tosh and they definitely exhibited characteristics of stereotypical gay males.

Do you guys remember the show "Cow and Chicken" on Cartoon network (not Adult Swim)? There was actually a somewhat controversial episode about a very "butch" looking female biker gang who were literally "carpet munchers"

Here's the clip:

The creator of Static Shock, Dwayne McDuffie, said Richie from the Static Shock cartoon series was gay in his eyes. But it was never confirmed on screen. :(

Do you mean like confirmed gay? Cuz I'm absolutely sure no American children's cartoons had a confirmed gay character.

Snaggletooth definatly had to be, he spoke with the weirdest lisp and had some of the strangest catch phrases I've ever seen.

ummm, I don't know.

There was the ambigously gay duo on SNL.

One of the Charicters from the Comedy Central show "Drawn Together" is gay

No childrens programming that I know of has gay charicters on it yet, sorry
