I remember when microwaves first came out, I read an article in the paper about why your not supposed to zap hard boiled eggs- Within a minute I was trying it. After a minute or so it was just sort of popping-then when I pulled it out it blew to pieces in my face Lol- I guess the article was right.

Whats the dumbest thing you have done?
And this should get all lot of answers from many as all microwave owners have done at least ONE ? :-)

LMAO Your story is just way too funny and I don't think this will top it. Luckily, I'm too much of a wuss to try anything other than what they're for and what's supposed to go in them. However, my youngest brother (he's still a year older than I am) and his friend tried to pop popcorn in a brown paper bag when we were teenagers. It wasn't a small bag like you'd put a can of beer in but a large grocery bag. Well, it must have gotten too hot because the bag caught fire. I used a dishtowel to try and put out the fire (like we were taught in school) but that made the towel begin to char. The house smelled like burnt popcorn for a week afterwards - yuck!

My nephew put his dinner to heat for 131 minutes instead of seconds and started a mini fire that destroyed the mircrowave , thats what his dad gets for leaving a 9 year old at the time home alone with no supervision, I lived in the apartment below he thought that was was sufficent supervision.

The only time I can think of was when we put wieners in the microwave...one exploded, the onther one came out looking so disgusting we had to throw it out. Not a good idea.

I once put one of those mini Hershey bars in (the ones wrapped in the shiny silver paper) and of course it started sparking, and that goes for the coffee cups with the gold trim/designs around the top. Nothing too stupid though, lol.

The worst I have done was leave a spoon in the bowl I was microwaving. But I caught it before any damage was done.

I put a meal wrapped in tin foil in the microwave. It resulted in a mini lightning storm in the oven.

i thought i took off the foil of a package of cream cheese, and i put it in for about 10 seconds, and the whole thing was a fiery mass of cheese oozing everywhere... I had people coming over, and they were all sniffing and looking at me as I tried to clean it up discreetly

I placed some tacos in the microwave in a ziploc bag and when they came out the bag was melted on the tacos...everyone kinda thought "she stupid" . Yes, i had to throw away my tacos and didn't eat lunch!

This was at work :P how embarrasing.
