I have read that prices doubled of meteorites in the last three years. Are there people who like me, buy meteorites?
What are your thoughts about it?

There are people who make their living by buying and selling meteorites. There are a few who make their living finding them. Go for it.

You bet! I knew a store that sold geodes. Big ones. Costs of over a thousand bucks for the good large ones. And, there are places (Mexico is one) where they can just be picked up off the ground. Meteorites are a wonderful curiosity and would market well to scientific folks. Look good on the bookshelf, desktop. I wouldn't mind one.

I remember a few years back, Kellogs rice crispies in the UK were offering free Meteorite fragments, in a little card.

These were really popular then and I have sadly lost my one. :(

I could see them being very popular, as it would be amazing to own a piece of the universe from outer-space. It would also be extremely expensive!!

Sounds plausible to me, but I honestly don't know why. Where does one buy meteorites, anyway?

Buying them is a losing endevour. You would be much better off to find them instead. The more that are found, the less they are worth.
