Everything seems like it needs to be done. It is such a fast moving world that standing still doesn't seem to be an option anymore. What can I do to relax , and lose the feeling that everything needs to be done at this moment?

Hi Giggly. Good idea about screeming. Where else can I do it apart from in a car- (without raising alarm)?

You have to try to find something that gives you the feeling of being in another world, even if just for twenty minutes a day. When you find something like that, you get in this "zone", where nothing else can possibly break your concentration from it., and you are tuning out the outside world. I get that feeling from drawing, or reading, or going for a walk where there is no traffic, just me and nature. The trick is to not let the outside world get to you during this time, so turn the phone and the T.V. off. Maybe even turn on some relaxing music to drown out any noises from outside. The more often you do it, the more it feels that time is not an issue. I think it's just America. My aunt used to live in Greece, and said that people are so much more patient there. Even when going to a fast food restaurant, she would end up waiting 20 minutes for her food, because nobody is rushed. Of course in Greece, the people are used to it. They are also very lenient even with what time you come to work! Everything just seems so much more laid back. It's sad how in our country everything is so rushed all the time. No wander so many people suffer from stress and anxiety. Don't worry, everything that needs to get done WILL get done. Go into your errands in a relaxed state, and you will find that they are much more enjoyable this way.You will be surprised at actually how much time you have on your hands. But definitely don't push away your time to relax. If all a person does is go, go, go, they will live a very unhappy life and will be constantly not finishing things, because they will think there is constantly something else they've got to do. Realize that some of these things can be put off for awhile. Focus on the more important things here and now, and let the more unimportant things wait awhile. Don't let your life pass you by. Take time to enjoy the small things all around us that can bring you pleasure. Nobody wants to be an elderly person, regretful that they did not take the time to enjoy life when they had the chance. In this busy world, you still can.

The best way to relax is to turn on some quite music like classical or jazz or if you don't like music, just have complete quiet. Set a timer for 15 or 20 minutes and make yourself have that time to relax. This is great to do for a lunch break or in the evening before bed. It's also good to go for a 15 minute walk to help clear your mind. Find your quiet place in your mind and make yourself go there.
One of my favorite ones I've seen is this guy carries around this picture from one of his vacations that he loved. When he feels stressed, he'll look at the picture for a minute or two and imagine that he is still there. It works great!

I find a good "Scream" will reset most everything ... it's easiest to do this bloody murder scream while driving in the car ... I recomend that you're traveling at least 55 mph & not at a stop light.
