Mine's diesel, with good fuel economy. In my part of the world (Norway), especially in winter, it's a necessity. But no, you don't need one to pick up Abigail and Tarquin from school in South Kensington...

We have a Chevy 4x4 and it doesn't cost any more for taxes or insurance. The gas mileage is a little lower than our small SUV, but not bad enough to sell it. Maybe the fad of owning one is over. It's a necessity to own one where we live.

Im sure that the tax has gone up on them. Aswell as the petrol prices going up aswell. Sounds like 4x4s are getting more exepensive.

I drive one, and it gets reasonably good gas mileage. It is also no more expensive to insure than the last car I had...maybe 'cause I've been driving a long time.

Well mine is not for sale and I don't mind the consumption either. I work hard, I spend my money how I want.
