What do you think of people who spend social security money and welfare on things like...?

lottery tickets, beer, cigarettes, junk food, eating out etc.

Don't get me wrong...I know some people need SS and Welfare and I know people need entertainment and would like to dine out sometimes....

But a lot of people really abuse this money and buy more of these "luxuries" then most people.

Bolt...In my experience I have witnessed more white people abusing the system. However, I also live in upstate NY so....there ya go.

I agree ansd it makes me really mad. I know that some people need help, but others are users. I saw this lady buy food with her EBT card and then give it to a guy who gave her cash. That made me mad!

Neither social security benefits nor welfare payments are ever going to make anyone rich. Most people accept this, and try to just eke out a day-to-day existence on these monies. The rest - the ones you are talking about - have said to hell with it. They buy the lottery tickets in hopes of hitting the jackpot someday; they buy the beer, cigarettes, junk food, etc. to help them get through the day until then.

If you have enough money to pay all of your bills, including the mortgage on the modest but nice home you live in, enough money to buy a new car every 3 or 4 years, to buy clothing, food, health insurance and all the other necessities of life, and still have some left over to save and some you can use to buy beer, cigarettes, and junk food, you are a model citizen. But those other people, they are "low-lifes."

What would you buy if you had all but the lottery ticket, beer and cigarette money taken away?
