Kara Thrace is the name of the Starbuck int he current series, but what was the name of the male Starbuck in the old series?

In the original series, Starbuck's name was really just Starbuck.
In the new series, Ron Moore decided to use the old names as call signs, like fighter pilots. The writers made up new "real" names for the characters.

Dirt Benedict played the role. I don't remember him ever being called anything but Starbuck Interesting question tho. Now you've got me wondering. I'll have to do some research. BTW, I don't care for the new one. Too soap opera oriented.
