God says in Genesis that there will always be strife in that area of the world. It was because of Abraham's attempt to help God give him a child for blessing, when he went into the hand maid and sired Ishmael who is the father of all people of middle eastern descent. After this happened God told Abram that the offspring would be a "wild ***" of a people and there would be much strife between Arabs and Israelis. The only thing that will bring peace to the middle east is the return of Jesus.
God can take care of anything he wants to. He has a purpose we may not understand.
Our troops are doing a job. They have a dangerous job and are on a mission to accomplish something our government has deemed important.
Read the Bible for more insight into why God does the things he does.

Maybe we all need a better understanding of God's purpose.
It has become human nature to disagree with someone else's way of life and if we don't like it we fight.
But I think your question can be better addressed if you ask: Why does God allow children to be killed on a school bus or for any of the other atrocious happening's that we see on a daily basis.

Why should He? People have died by the millions for lesser things.
If God needed to, He would. Obviously this HAS to happen. Just remember, bad or good, EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.
Why do millions of His own people die tragically? The Hebrews (Jewish people) are his chosen people and it says in the Bible that his people will ALWAYS be persecuted. Christians are included and we're ALWAYS hated.
It's like that quote, "Why do people have to die? To make like worth living."
Totally true.

Isn't islam a peaceful religion?
Aren't muslims forbidden to kill muslims?
Isn't the discipline and love of humanity imposed by a lifetime of studying the koran supposed to lead to a peaceful nation?
Isn't following the example of moe (pi$$-buh) supposed to make people lead peaceful loving lives?
Shouldn't overthrowing Saddam and letting the naturally peaceful force of islam emerge have created a peaceful society?
Does this make any sense, when islamic "insurgents" use children in car-bombs to get past a checkpoint and then blow up the car, with the children in it?

God does not have a history of solving our problems for us, that defeats the whole uprpose of existence. Believe it or not we are not here just to sing praise to God, its not like he invented all of creation and the universe as a stage for us to sing to him from, we have to figure things out ourselves, its called free will.

Why should God? He didn't start the war George Bush did. Just because someone claims to be a prophet doesn't mean they are and if you believe everyone who claims to be following the word of God then I have some Kool-Aide for you.

Free will was one of the greatest gifts given to mankind. And it shows true colours as to what they choose to do with it. Man has made a mess out of this planet...and its not God's job to clean it up.

Good question, but if you turn the question around, you can prove that God is smarter than he looks at times, but then he also bares pain very well.

It's a little thing called free will. We don't get a pass that easy.
What would be the point if we did?
