ok right now everyone is wondering that same thing. Sanjaya is still on american idol for three reasons.
1) People are voting for the worst people to ruin the show
2) all of these teenage girls are like in love with him
3) The people from his culture are voting for him because they would all like to prove to us that not just americans can win american idol
I know, everyone is thinking the same thing, why the he** is he still on american idol....but give it time, we all know that he wont actually win

American Idol has become an institution in American Pop culture. It will not be going away anytime soon because the most exciting part of the show's season is the first 4 or so weeks where worst singers are weeded out. We all know (as much as the judges say during the last 8 weeks of the show) it is what America says by sending in their votes - all quite obvious.
America is now saying, "Hey, look at the power we have, American Idol!" What the votes say, goes! I heard a recording that Sanjaya sang on the website, and he sounded pretty good....but, I am a musician who has been in a studio many times and they can make the worst singer sound good with one tweak of the computer software. Just listen to the country group Rascal Flatts "live" and you'll know that outside the studio, nothing can help a live artist.
The real heart of the story is that even if you win American idol (which Sanjaya could very well do), it doesn't mean you'll do well. Look at the past years - if you are a talented singer - and don't win, someone in the Record Business is ready to give you a recording contract and push you into stardom.
People are voting to see if the system can be beat. Even if it is, the only person getting hurt is Sanjaya because he'll be the poster boy for the show and will be doing something he's not quite prepared for.
Remember here - nobody is saying that Sanjaya cannot sing. He's much better that the "She Bang's" guy. Remember him - what a joke.
Let's keep voting how we think. If you are voting for Sanjaya, all power to you. Think about why you are voting.
Are you voting:
1) Because you want to see American Idol look foolish through the voting system - have fun doing that.
2) Because Sanjaya is the best singer - check your ears - there are much better singers.
3) Because Sanjaya is the best entertainer - to each their own.
This is a simple question that can only be answered by each person who is voting for the right reason. Look at Carrie Underwood - good voting. Look at Chris Daughtry - wrong kinda voting.
Enjoy the "SANJAYA RIDE". It should be an entertaining one. If it keeps people watching, then FOX is doing something right. You're just adding feul to their fire by being a part of it - nothing wrong with that - but are you getting paid, or does that really matter.
Final thought: I bet almost anyone that alot of people think that "Simon Cowell", who is a judge on the show is "The Simon" that created the show (Simon Fuller). Foolish homework.

Sanjaya has the popularity vote and that is the only reason why he is still in. I have to say he is cute but I'm a sucker for long hair. I think most girls are voting for him just to keep him on so that they can see him each week. If he makes it another week and another we are doomed because our next american idol could be represented by a not so good singer. I think he might have a good voice if he were to break out of his shell some more. I mean he has to have some talent or he wouldn't have made it to the top 24. America didn't vote him there. They just voted him to the top 12. He could suprise us all but only time can tell.

1.) Tweenyboppers love him. Yes i said tweenybopper - those girls between 10 and 13 - over barney but yet not into real singers.
2.) People like Howard Stern promoting idiots to vote for the worst.
That's the only reason he is still on! Hopefully these kids and the little sheep that follow Stern will all be sent to bed early and a real competition will again be happening.
Don't bet on it though - sanjaya may just win. And then that's when we really need to feel bad for him - cruel people will have voted him to win and then they won't be nice enough to buy his music and he will fall flat on his face. Very sad pathetic people if you ask me.

Because he's bad and people think it's funny. I think it's just rude and unfair.
Also Idol is set up so only a few select people get in, many good people are turned away so bad people can audition and embarrass themselves in front of Randy, Paula and Simon.
It's really a big hoax.

I have to agree with you, man! He drives me nuts, just watching him try to sing! To me he has no where NEAR the singing capabilities as the other singers....his sounds bland. And what do they keep doing to his hair every week? He looks like some Micheal Jackson freak-show........ I hate him!

and it doesnt matter if he goes out this time around, he made it to the top 10 so therefore he will be in the AMERICAN IDOL TOUR
