not usually, but there are exceptions...i generally listen to some harder stuff, but it depends on the song...for example, i luv mika`s "grace kelly" & i consider that a pop song...

I like some pop music, but for me that applies to all types of music. I like music based on the talent of the musicians and the actual song, not the category that the song falls into. So many songs are classified based on the image of the band that wrote the song rather than the actual song itself, that you can't always tell whether that song really belongs in the category. Also, I don't care about what my "image" is, and will listen to any music that appeals to me (usually unique and catchy) regardless of there classification, so to speak.

As a genre, not really. I haven't heard anything very creative or moving in it since the Beatles, really.
But I do like some particular artists and bands within the pop genre, because I never discriminate based simply on genre, just like I don't discriminate people based on their race. There's stuff among any category or label you wanna create.

Pop music is so, so, lame!!! One of the main reasons is Chicago radio is horrible! They play the same music over and over again not to mention how bad the bands are. So many of them sound the same. 3 Doors Down, Limp Bisquit, Fallout Boy, stuff like that.....all those bands suck big time!! Pop music stinks!!

I like some pop music, but there are other styles I tend to like better. Why? Just personal taste, I guess :-)

I don't like modern pop music. It all sounds very "fabricated." I like a wide range of music, though, but the "top 40" type of stations are just wasteland. It's too much the same and too artificial.

i had my spice girl and n'sync moment - but i am glad that stuff is over. i grew up and moved on. i dont like the stuff now because it's too airy and bubblegummy - it's more designed for preteens and teenyboppers. i'm not 13 anymore and i need more solid music. music that i still will enjoy 30 years from now and wont be embarassed to play. how would that look - 50 years old and singing 'hit me baby one more time, oh baby baby' - um no!

Most music nowadays is pure crap and pop/rap is the worst of the worst.
I'll listen to some alternative rock and/or easy listening but that's about it. I really like Coldplay X & Y.

no: most of todays' pop music lacks substance, heart, grit, and originality.. most performers these days like to sound "nasal-ish", and lyrically- their either "begging" or "crying"..everybody is a generic knock-off of everybody else..nothing genuine....sorry, I just can't relate....
