I apparently was born with Spino Biffoda aculta (or however it's spelled) and it opened up and i had to get surgery to fix it yesterday and i have stitches in my back around my tailbone (basically on my tooshie) and it hurts a little to sit down . I have a donut they gave me but it's not helping too much, do any of you have any ideas?

You should try not to sit very much until the stitches are out. It's best if you lay on your side and give the area time to heal. I've had many surgeries on my tailbone and know What this is like.

Having had tailbone injuries myself, I'd say your best course of action is to lay on your side. In a few days you may want to sit in an overstuffed chair with one or both legs under you, leaning to one side. Laying on the old tummy works too. Anything you can do to keep the pressure off the sore area.

Unless your doctor say otherwise, you can lay on either too long, honey, especially since you're having pain. When you lie down, put a pillow between your legs/knee and ankle area to take the strain off of your hips and change position every 2 hrs. Please call your doc and tell them you're having problems with pain. Ask if you can use cold compress therapy (ice pack) or warm heat in the area. Godblessyou and wishing you a speedy recovery!

If you are still in pain and cannot get relief, just call the doctor's office that performed your surgery. They can help you! There will be some pain and discomfort but it should ease as time passes over the next couple of days. Get well soon!

stay only on your side--and switch sides often ... at least every hour or so.
The hole in the donut hole cushion could actually be pulling on the skin and ripping at the stitches that area which is probably the coaxial perianal area of you spine.
