Don't rule out teeth. My daughter cut her first teeth at 3months.
Check his gums for swelling.
It could also be gas.

Wow no one on here can answer this. It can be several things. Take him to the doctor, there they can examine him and give you a better idea of what is wrong. He could be cutting teeth, he could be colicky, have an ear infection, be suffering from virus. Maybe it's just the way he is. Not sure if you are feeding him solids yet, but maybe he is still hungry and needs more to be content. Try introducing pablum and pureed veggies. He also could be suffering from gas, try gripe water.
If he is teething and his gums are red and swollen give him a cold wet cloth to suck on or a teething ring which you keep in the fridge. This will help him. Also if he has a fever give him Tempra which he might get from teething.
Also I can't believe someone said to give a teething baby a long stick pretzel. OMG!!

I think everyone in here is not seeing the ovious! Its very doubtful that your child is teething...too young for the most part. Yeah im sure that everyone has heard stories about a 3 month old cutting teeth...but it is pretty rare. I thought my twins were teething...i tried baby oragel...now i feel bad because all they were was TIRED!!!!! They start fighting naps at that age. They are no longer like those tiny newborns you brought home from the hospital...you need to make them take naps...or try to stretch out their naps because they like to be up playing. Try to get your baby to sleep a little more! I can all but guarantee that thats what it is!!

If he is drewling a lot he is teething. Otherwise he could be having a belly ache. Some babies start teething at 1 month. Mine cut his first tooth at 1 month. An easy way to tell is to put your finger in his mouth. If he clamps down on it in a chewing manor then he is cutting teeth. It helps to rub the gums gently with your finger.

I can't diagnose what's wrong with that general of a question, but it's probably teeth. I would definitly say it's not colic because that usually is found between 0-3 months, not beginning at three months. I'm sure if this has been occurring since birth, you would've mentioned it. If it persists or gets worse, I'd have a doc take a look.
President Thomas Jefferson was born with all of his childhood teeth.

Feel his belly, if its quite hard the little guy is either him constipated or has gas. if this is the case when changing him bring up his legs to his belly and gently rock them on his stomach this will help ease the gas, has he pooped recently? maybe some prunes might work for that.you can get jars he wont like it so much but just give him a bit that helps..if he is teething i dont think at that age teething toys or washcloths work babies just dont get it and lookk to you to fix...if you are nursing offer him the breast as often as he will take to soothe himself...one of the best things abt nursing instant feel better for baby!!I am trying to think of other things if those dont work have you tried swaddling him? wrap him up nice and snug in a blanket, put a soother in his mouth and get some fresh air...good luck i know its heartbreaking when babies are unhappy ..

All 3 of my kids started teething at 3 months. It is very common my doctor said. Have you tried teething tablets. They are wonderful. They are at Wal-Mart with the vitamins. Don't worry they dissolve right away, no choking. You should try them. Good luck!

He could be getting in some teeth.Just make sure you watch his temperature.Baby can get a fever when they are breaking in some teeth.I have always used thees little teething tablets.I use HYLANDS brand. There are no side effects,100% natural, and they are soft tablets that dissolve instantly. You can get them at walmart and rite aid.Another one of my daughters favorites is to get a wash cloth wet and freeze it,and let them chew on it they love it specially in the summer time.

It may be teeth. I was told my my daughter's doc that they can be two months and start to cut teeth. My daughter started at 3 1/2 months. Orajel does not work.....give him a cold wash cloth to chew on and see how he likes that....that and long stick pretzels is what pacified my daughter!!

i disagree with gg. My nephew was litterally born with teeth. It all depends on the indevidual child. He/She could just be gassy, in which case talk to your pediatrition about swiching formulas(if used) or a diff. bottle. The ones with the disposable bags work best( secondary to the breast). it could be alot of things, its best to talk to your pediatrition. Though sometimes he could just be bored, try a new toy or even a mirror(unbreakable ones for infants are best.)
