Captaino your blindness to a genuine problem is only outdone by your arrogence, if you are right, then, why do we have federal crimes and federal prisons and federal grants and federal laws affecting individuals and I could go on and on and on...

Amer-I-C, I don't think this is a democratic, republican issue as a matter of political affiliation, it, just is shocking and you are missing the issue here.

I was wondering when someone would bring this up. Almost every night I hear about another shooting somewhere in Minnesota. And I wondered, 'What's wrong with people these days? Why are they hellbent on hurting and killing one another?'

Then I wondered, 'If this is happening in my state, how many other states are experiencing the same problem? And what do those numbers look like?'

It's definitely not pretty. And it makes the Iraq war look likes child's play in comparison. Believe me I don't want young people dying anywhere in the world. But people need to also start looking at what's going on here at home and start thinking about ways to stop the violence.

Edit: And this is not just a State Government issue people. This is an issue that affects all levels of government. The states need to enact tougher penalties and so does the Federal Government. We also need a stop the violence program here at home. What it should entail I'm not sure exactly, but we need to brainstorm and get it started. Before more young people die.

I can't explain it.
everyone seems so numbed to violence, it is so glorified in everything we see and hear, it is promoted as a solution.

I don't believe all citizens should carry guns, they are designed to extinguish life quickly. I don't see many realistic scenarios where they would be useful. I do however see many situations where they would escalate a situation terribly, or fall into the wrong hands, such as those of a child.

everyone keeps harping on about how citizens need guns to protect them from their government.... this seems to be a ridiculous argument. what would a government have to do these days to get a mass armed uprisiing of the population? haven't they already done enough? I don't see any street fights. Just a lot of people smug because they have guns, a government still roaming wild, and a hell of a lot of dead people.

peace.

I know its hard or maybe impossible for liberals to understand federalism but give it one more try. it is not the national govts position to handle state affairs. that causes a police state. the national govt handles national affairs hence Iraq and not state violence. I know this is Greek but just try to let it simmer.

no its some peoples hatred that cant understand that not everything is done for some political reason like some are implying. and the fact some want the govt to do EVERYTHING IN THEIR LIVES. but I figured some wouldn't understand and resort to attacks. typical.

and if you libs would not continually create a victimization of evil doers in this country we would be able to handle the problem. but I know it has to be the administrations problem. always leaving out the courts systems, lawyers and rights activists because they do nothing but good right..... so contrived.

Although we have many problems at home I still feel that if current laws were enforced strictly murder rates would go down.
I do not want to live in a society where only the government has guns
We've already seen what the government can do with lies and power

Yes, that number is shocking, and that is a problem. Now if we could just look at what group makes up the largest portion of that number? hmmmm....

This is what happens when you allow freedom of religion with the right to bear arms. People who worship invisible sky gods or their "son" should not be permitted to own weapons of any kind.
