20years ago I worked and collected government benefits at the same time. I was found out & paid the penalty which was not prison. I received a 12 month suspended prison sentence. It was a large sum of money and I continued to repay. I have done nothing wrong since then & I have always been a model citizen. I applied for a good job and passed all the criteria and was informed that I had the job. I was just waiting to the go ahead when they rang me & told me there was 1 more form to be filled, stating it was very important form & had to be returned via fax asap. This form was for me to authorize a police check. Now I am so worried & stressed over what happened. I am now waiting for them to contact me & with this bad news that they will discover about my having a criminal record. When filling in the form I ticked no to the question: have I any criminal record. As I hoped they would not look into this further. Should I worry? Is there a chance they will still hire me if they find out

When you are underage you have it until you are legal age they still keep it for recourds. Unless trailed as and adult.

If you get one as an adult you have it for life

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNHy7

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

It will follow you forever even if you have it expunged, your public record is in a data base service used by employers to run back ground checks, it will never be removed from this service

as toward getting the job, the main problem will be that you lied on your application about the criminal record if it comes up and they see you lied, but I am sorry you probably will not be hired based on the application on the criminal record

Ahhh, man. I really feel for you. You should've been upfront and honest. I think your main problem is that you lied, not that you did something 20 years ago. Maybe, you should call the employer and explain to them what happened. Tell them that you are a changed man and you learned the errors of your ways. I have a DUI on my record and I always explain to my employer that I was a different person and have learned a lot since my DUI. Good luck.

Criminal records are kept forever. However, it is up to your potential employer, if it was 20 years ago and you have been a model citizen since they may still hire you. Good luck.

You must appear before a judge and get it expunged. It costs a fee....probably 500 minimum.

you should call and straighten it out now. Its old and you're good now, but they wont see it that way since you lied on the application you just filled out.
