Good reference books can be found at your local public library. Usually, refugees are not allowed to go back to their countries of "persecution" unless the situation has changed for the best. However, there are situations where a refugee, upon obtaining a green card, can now travel freely anywhere in the world including his home country of "persecution". Caution must be exercised in this case, if anything bad happens to the refugee while back in his home country, he might not be able to re-enter the USA for obvious reasons. Hope this helps!
