I see them everywhere and I was just wondering if they were any good. What do you think?

You mean the Walmart pools? They have been going up in my neighborhood all week. Even the next door neighbor put one up Sunday. It's kind of like big blue alien spores popping up all over the place.

I do own one and have for several years. We started off with a smaller one and then went to a larger one. You need to take them down for winter which can be a lot of work (cleaning etc>) and you need a good place to store it, but overall our son loves his and gets lots of use out of it which is really nice as we don't have to go to the public pool. You need to take care of it, put cholorine in it etc. but they really are a decent buy. You kind of need your own air compresser to blow up the top ring. Beware of cats and dogs puncturing this. We have dogs and cats and the cats usually put several patchable holes in the ring a couple of times a year but, overall we have gone over 3 years with the same pool so, I feel like we have gotten our money worth with each one. Buy a good quality one to start with as there are some cheap imatition ones out there that just probably wouldn't hold up. We got ours at Wal Mart but, The Academy outdoor store has some good sales right now on them.

We went through 2 of them the really big ones.We couldn't figure why they kept deflating, then we saw cats jumping up on the inflated ring so we figure they were making small claw marks...We trashed them both and went for the bigger better metal framed one...Have had no problems with it what so ever and cats can't jump on the rim. It's the best and worth the extra few bucks.

There is a difference between Pool and Billiard , Firstly depends on where you came from. In my experience I have found in Australia ,New Zealand ,America and most part of Asia the game of 8 ball is called Pool and in most part of Europe it is called Billiards. 8 ball - Pool Pocket Billiard - also known as Pool or 8 ball Billiard - 3 ball game ( red , yellow and & white ball) played on a 12 ft snooker table. Carom Billiard - 3 ball game played on a 10 ft table with no pocket. Pocket Pool - its a game played with normal Pool ball and a pack of cards. ( its a money game) Note : pending on where you come from it might be a different name used.
