Oh my gosh, I wondered this myself. I read somewhere that the creator of Max and Ruby, Rosemary Wells, wanted the show to be about the brother and sister relationship, so she intentionally left out the parents. Though they do still have a grandma. It bothers me though, still. I mean, my kids love it, and every time I watch it, I think WHERE THE HELL ARE THEIR PARENTS!! Where is the supervision? LOL
