Getting your ear/s pierced does not make you gay. having sex with men doesn't do it either any more than having sex with women makes you straight. There was, at one time, a supposed code where one ear said you were gay while the other said you were straight. All this meant was that most gays had rings in the left ear as they didn't want to advertise and most of those with rings in the right ear were rebellious straights.
If you want an earring, have it in whichever ear you like - or both if you prefer.

Thirty or forty years ago, there was such a "code." There isn't these days.
I used to think that if a guy had both ears pierced and wore matching earrings, that he was gay- but since then I have spoken with many, many straight men with this jewelry.
You were born LGBT or straight. Getting your ears pierced has nothing to do with your sexual orientation. And "all" LGBT people nor "all" straight people get one side vs. the other pierced.

conventionally, if a male gets his ear pierced, it was the left ear if he was straight, or the right ear if he was gay... nowadays, however, enough guys get both ears pierced that it is nearly meaningless to try to use and ear-piercing as a discreet signal.....

crap! people have their opinions don't they. It is the left ear you want to get pierced or just pierce both of them. I happen to think that is sexy on a guy. Or get your eyebrow pierced thats awesome.
