You don't hear about men having these affairs anymore.

Oh girlfriend...you'd better pay more attention to the news! Every day it seems like a male teacher is getting busted. The stories about female teachers are a bit more rare and tend to be more sensationalized than with males.

The key word in your question is "reports".

In the news business you may hear someone say, "If it bleeds, it leads". Simply stated that means what ever sells papers is printed.

When I was in high school there were two events that occurred simultaneously. The high school football team lost a game but won a huge brawl afterward and several Boy Scouts received there Eagle awards. Guess which one made the local paper, front page, above the fold.

I don't think a lot of things really change that much. More are getting caught perhaps but that's because more people, because of those "reports", are aware of the situation and looking for that type of activity.

Add that boys are very interested in sex and much more likely to keep their mouths shut about an affair with a teacher. I know I would have...

You know how that goes - squeaky wheels get the attention. You know there are also male teachers involved in those activities, but the female ones stand out because (sad to say it even exists) it's the latest news. All because one problem pops up, it doesn't mean the other ones just go away.
