The Democrats told us that America voted for a "new direction" in Iraq, but since their election to the majority party, we have actually INCREASED the # of troops in Iraq. This doesn't seem like a new direction.
And now the Democrats have bogged down funding bills for Iraq with pork to spinach farmers and other special interests. Why would they do this to a wartime funding bill?
Have the Democrats no shame? Why haven't they brought the troops home? Do they lack the power? Or are they just liars? Its been 3 months since they took office already!!
Do you anti-war voters feel like they lied to you?

As a side note, why did the Democrats shut down the arm of the Congress that kept track of riders for the rest of this year?

The funny part of it all is that you dems are actually shocked by the fact that the congress has lied to you. This goes to show how politically motivated they are and driven by polls and not by conviction. I knew this would happen, I feel no sympathy for your pathetic libs

Wait i'm wondered, so enable me get this quickly the democrats have failed in the adventure that they convey the troops residing house lower than the ideology that it will be a "reduce and Run" project. besides the indisputable fact that if the Democrats fail to convey the troops residing house they don't seem residing as a lot as their duties. the position is the responsibility for the human beings who easily were given us into Iraq? If politics are in accordance to a shall we see how a lot of a multitude we can leave for the subsequent guy to clean up and ridicule him if he won't be able to theory then i could heavily evaluate replacing the country to an anarchist political gadget, it can be extra efficient.

Congress controls the purse-strings. If you had any familiarity with the Constitution you would know that it's the President who needs to bring the troops home.
Thus, the House passed a bill telling him: Either you're binging them home on (I forget the exact date), or you'll have to bring them home now, because you won't get any more money to keep them there.
In other words, they ARE working on bringing them home.
No, they don't have that power directly, they have the power to authorize spending.
They are using that power to do what the American people have said we want them to do.
Before passing that particular bill, they passed a lot of other bills doing things most Americans wanted them to do (minimun wage increase, for instance -- that whole slew of things they did in the first few days).
Any one who had a clue about how the government works, and had been paying the least attention to what they've been up to would realize, for the first time in a long time, Congress is doing what the majority of citizens want them to do, rather than doing the opposite.
I don't expect this answer to do any good, as obviously, you lack all relevant cluefullness.

It took six years of a Republican president and a republican congress to screw things up, and you think this can be fixed in three months?
And you want to talk about pork, how about the billions of dollars gone missing in Iraq, not to mention the billions in profit Halliburton (and Cheney) are racking up.
To leave iraq in the sorry state that we have put them in would be irresponsible, just as irresponsible as starting the war in the first place.
Such simple minded analysis is what I have grown to expect from the neocons.

It will take more than 3 months to un do the damage this administration has done to NOT ONLY IRAQ but to this
country as well.
Pretty sad when the only way get money for projects here in America is to hide it in a bill that is all about MORE WAR and we all know that the republicans love their wars.

They are to stupid to ever feel ignored. Their political leaders always tell them one thing and do something else after the election. They do it every time and they still get votes. The like to be used, that is why they take it in the a** and then come back for more.

calm down and give them some time. I think they are trying but I also think that its not that simple. They cant just wave a magic wand and make it happen. Don't forget that the president is strongly opposed to it and that he is a major roadblock!

They're afraid to take action because when they realize that they are wrong, they wouldn't want to be blamed. No action always seems to be a common theme among Democrats. They just sit around, or form focus groups and "tolerate" everything around them.

Politics isn't like the internet. You don't just type in something and it happens. It has only been two months and these things do take a bit of time.
All bills have riders.
