It's easy to mimic the low class, hip hop black culture because it does not require any effort. It is the lazy man's path, just as people who eat at McDonalds are too lazy to think of a better place to have lunch.
Now, if you wanted to mimic the jet setter Italian from Rome or Milan, you'd have to wear spiffy Zegna clothing, pay attention to grooming and hygiene, speak correctly, and have something more enlightening to say than, "wazzup?"

Who said it's taking over America? This is a silly question. It's only taking over America as you put it, because idiots buy what they are selling. Black Entertainment stars laugh all the way to bank selling their illusion of crude, crass, rude, pimp, thug, whatever. Many of them aren't even from the hood. It's an act.
As long as the concert and record buying public puts up with that disgusting nonsense, they'll keep making it and doing it.

It's all a matter of personal taste. You really can't answer this question without seeming a little racist or bias towards one race. As a black person I find all races to be of interest and my style is versatile enough to fit in with both races. It's just the way that the world is swaying, hip-hop music, slang and mannerisms are what's in now, I don't think that it's just a "black" thing...no one race owns anyway of acting.
Ok I had to edit my answer to reflect my opinion on the person's reply above me. I don't believe that you could honestly think that the hip-hop culture is low class. Just like any other race there are those who could care less about their own appearance, did you forget about the term "white trash"? Each race has it's own group of people who are not up to par like everyone else, so please don't just try to make it a "black hip-hop thing"

Thats the sad result of White children watching MTV promote the thug lifestyle in their formative years.
An evening or two in East St. Louis would take the thug worship out of them.

The Hip-Hop culture is the new Disco, and equally as pointless and annoying. People will adopt and resort to anything to feel as if they have an identity. It is easier to 'borrow' a cultures mannerisms, than to create your own.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree most with Marray. Each culture has its groups of lower class idiots that every race is embarrassed of. I too, do not think it is confined to the blacks alone. It is only by coincidence that white suburbia has decided to emmulate hip-hop. It could have been any other culture. The individuals who choose to immitate what they see as acceptable now a days are as bad as the lower end classes they emmerge from. It isnt Black Culture dominating America; it is mislead adolescence fighting against what they beleive is their oppression......Never being told No, and parents who are too engulfed in their own lives to care.

Quite simply put, because we have been given certain liberties you haven't and however small those liberties may be, they have exaulted us in our our minds and in the minds of others. As the percieved powerful race, we are looked up to and thus, our attributes (both social and physical) are mimicked by other "less powerful" races. It's about time we got our turn to be on top for a change though... wouldn't you agree?

Actually... it doesn't matter what color your skin is, anyone can have a different culture.
If you mean "hip hop" culture, that is a lil clearer, but this question makes no sense to me.

Most americans suffer from a severe cultural defieciency.
It's ironic that we are the ONLY nationality in the US that was stripped of their culture, forced to start a new one, now every other nationality in america is attracted to it.
