I got a track meet today, just found out that it is a waterfall start, and its indoor with six lanes. I have only done two waterfall starts in my career as a 400m runner and last year it was just so we had someone in it, this year im first in conference and picked to win for the meet. I need help, how should i do this water fall start? Should i just get infront of everyone right away like i normally do or should i do something else, I have to know how to do this by 4p.m. today, please! I need help!

Do not go to the front right away. You should try to get out ahead but be in the front of the pack so that you avoid any falls and do not get boxed in and do not use up to much energy. Waterfall starts is all about staying safe and putting yourself in the race.

What event are you running. You do not start a 400 from a waterfall. If you are running indoors you need to get to the front, because it is difficult to pass indoors. If you are running a longer distance then just stay near the lead and out of trouble. If you normally like to run from the front then do so.

no just keep up with them save your energy until the end let them take the wind follow right behind them just like in nascar so you don't use as much energy then at the end when the time is right make your move for the finish/'/
