Personaly I say no. Infact, I think Highschoolers shouldnt either, espcially during class. They can cause a distraction and the content on them, though I know that it isn't so with all preteen to teens, maye be bad. I am guilty myself. I have worn my mp3 player at least 2-3 times during a class, however not during the lesson given part of the class. It is just another distraction unless the teacher regualtes the certian times they can be used.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

No, we have enough problems with them in High School they souldn't be allowed to lis8ten to them at that age. Besides the fact that the ear buds can damaage their ears they also need to be able to hear and as their bodies are srill growing and maturing I believe that they will not be able to handle that much of a volume elvel at that age and there for will not be able to control their hearing and their hearing loss will begin at a much earlier akge than what is already happening with a mlo tof people in their 20's and 30's.
We have also had a lot of cases where the students have had them stolen or lost because othey have kept them ion their backpacks and not been able to keep track of them. Plus it lets them go onto websites that they shouldn't be going on and it helps them bypass the mandatory school com puter restrictions in school. I have even seen some students use them to override, or try to override the computer systems.

In SCHOOL - yes. It's fun, and there's nothing wrong with sharing music in breaktime and stuff - what else were you gonna do?
In CLASS - No way. It distracts from the lesson.
At my school there was a stealing problem, but we all have locked lockers so that's fine.

So long as they aren't listened to in lessons then yes. I find that listening to music when doing my homework helps me work better.

NO! Not only won't the kids be listening but it is very disrespectful to the teacher.

Not during class, obviously, but it should be OK to listen during lunch and breaks.
