Well they are not experts, but I just rang the local police, and asked them the same question, and they said as long as it was parked, it wasn't illegal.
Thinking some more, it wouldn't be illegal for someone other than the driver, to be sleeping while the car is in motion.

Oh dear God- not another one.
Don't worry, you'll probably just be hassled by the polyester police- our new Community Patrol Officers who'll give you either an ASBO or a Peckham bracelet.

It's all about Respect, dear. Or should I pronounce that more correctly as respeck?

Maybe,

cause i saw in one 'Everybody Loves Raymond' episode, that if u were sleeping in your car, the police can accuse you for drunk driving or some kind of that...(Honestly i don't have a clue about this)

If you are on a street, yes it is illegal. If you are in some parking lot or rest stop on the highway, it's fine.

It depends on the place you live in. Some places do have laws against it as a means of controlling vagrancy.

Nothing would surprise me. I remember when they encouraged you to take a rest in the motorway service stations, still do in fact. Surely closing your eyes isn't a crime, when safely parked. What statute would prohibit it?

Dont think so...

Would be silly if it was as if you get tired you should sleep to prevnent accidents... just take the car keps out.

In tourist areas they may have by laws as want you in a hotel

It can't be because they tell you to pull over and have rest stop if you are driving and feel tired - I think it would be more unsafe than illegal
