The original is wayyyyyyyyyyy better than any remake. I liked the recent version, but nothing compares to Willis O'Brien's great models. Soundtrack is great too.

I agree completely. Reason being that the original was made with less and was the original concept. The new one has computer enhanced special effects, and is almost an exact duplicate of the '33 version. I see it more and more every year, Hollywood can't come up with something original so they either copy a classic such as "King Kong" or they try to rip off every comic book I grew up reading. It truely makes me sad

I agree with you. And to think that now they have better equipment and technology but they failed to bring out the true essence which was captured by the 1933 version. For the guys in the past it was not about making a film that will make money, it was about making a movie they too could be proud of.

You mean people actually think the remake is better? wow. I think the 70's Kong is better than the '05 version. But the 1933 version is BY FAR best.

I wanted to like the new one, but it was bloated with special effects and loving looks between Naomi and the Gorilla. We got it already!

1933 all the way.

Yes, I just love the original, too. They're so different that it's almost incomparable, isn't it? The high-tech images are fun, but you just can't beat the original. The actors are so dramatic and it's fun trying to figure out how they filmed the scenes way back when.

Definitely. Especially for when it was created. The story, acting, and directing was fantastic and, again, considering when it was created, the special effects were incredible. By far the better movie.

Yes, the new king kong was overrated, and pointless...too much heart.
