The woman in question is married, and there is absolutely no ulterior motive from me. We live in different parts of the U.S.

I saw her myspace page while searching for people from high school, college, and old jobs (I'm new to myspace and was curious about who I could find).

My instincts tell me that it's inappropiate, however innocent my intentions might be, whether she's married or not.

[Damned internets! I knew you were a bad thing when I first encountered you way back in the ancient 1990's.]

We did like each other back then (but I never let her get too close - long story). And obviously, I thought about her after 13 years.

I don't know. Maybe the past should stay dead.

Depends on several factors. (I don't want answers, these are for you to answer for yourself)

1: How did your relationship with the woman end?
2: Did you part on amicable terms?
3: Why do you really want to come back into contact with her?
4: Would coming back into contact with her cause friction with her spouse?

Depending on your answers to those questions, I think you'll know the answer to your question.

It's not at all inappropriate to contact her, why would it be? I'm a big fan of myspace myself, I've actually found quite a few people that I haven't talked to in years, and all of them, whether just old friends or old boyfriends, have been really glad to hear from me. It's nice getting in touch with people from your past occasionally, it reminds you of where you came from and how you came to be the person you are today. And it's certainly a pleasant suprise to have an unexpected message waiting for you from someone you thought you had completely lost contact with.

I say you send her a friendly message, see if she remembers you and ask her how she's been. If she's in a secure, happy marriage, it shouldn't matter that you're just saying hello and catching up on old times. It will probably be really fun for you guys to stroll down Memory Lane.

I'd be quite happy for someone I knew from way back to get in touch. I kind of wish certain people would just because I'd like to know how their lives turned out.

I don't see why she should mind, she's put her details out there!!

Thats what myspace is there for!! to meet new ppl and reconnect with long lost friends. Me for one, would be so flattered if someone I hadnt seen in 13 yrs remembered me! I would go for it if I were you. (unless you hardly knew her, that would be akward) :P

I wouldn't mind as long as it was someone I liked but then I'm single with no kids to worry about.

i don't think that contacting her via MySpace is inappropriate...she will have the option of responding to your email or ignoring it...

It wouldn't hurt to say "Hey! How's life treatin' ya?" would it?
